Ocean Room (2–3 Years)

Our Ocean Room provides a stimulating, nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 2 to 3 years. This is an exciting stage of development where children are becoming increasingly independent, curious and eager to explore the world around them.
Our experienced practitioners create a safe and enabling environment where children can learn through play, investigation and meaningful interactions. Children are encouraged to make choices and decisions about their play, helping them to develop confidence, independence and problem-solving skills. We carefully plan a wide range of activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs, ensuring every child is supported to make progress across all areas of learning.
Each day, children take part in both child-initiated play and adult-led experiences. These activities are designed to support communication and language development, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, early mathematics, creativity and an understanding of the world around them. Through carefully planned experiences, children develop important skills such as concentration, turn-taking, resilience and confidence.
Children have daily access to our outdoor learning environment, where they can run, climb, explore and investigate using a variety of natural resources, tools and materials. Outdoor play is an important part of our curriculum and helps children to develop their physical skills, coordination, confidence and understanding of the world around them.
Healthy snacks are provided at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm each day, and lunch is served at 11:45am. Children can enjoy one of our freshly prepared hot meals or bring a packed lunch from home. We believe that healthy eating plays an important role in children’s wellbeing, learning and development.
We recognise that every child develops at their own pace and work closely with families to ensure children feel happy, secure and supported throughout their time in Ocean Room. Our aim is to help children build the confidence, independence and skills they need as they prepare for their transition into Forest Room.
